The Festival of flowers, Tulip Day is famous among the people of India. Tulip festival has been named after the Ex- prime minister of India, the late Indira Gandhi. Tulip festival takes place during the March and April months and is the prettiest festival that takes place in Kashmir and at the Siraj Bagh Chesmahsahi in Srinagar.

It is popular as a Indira Gandhi memorial garden. Tulip festival is the most popular flower festival in India. This special event is a great way to capture the flowering tulips of the city of Srinagar.

The blooming event is a real treat to the eyes as the garden is spread over five hectares of land in the Zabarmwan foothills close to the Dal Lake. This Festival of flowers displays at 60 varieties of multi-coloured tulips.

It looks like a beautiful carpet that has 100 of colours and provides a heavenly view to the large number of tourists comes to the venue, (national and international) to catch the sight of these lovely and beautiful tulips. The view is simply outstanding and has uncountable magnificent tulips lined in rows to dance with the wind in front of the travellers.

With the start of the spring season, people throng to the place to get a sight of this magnificent place. The festival also feature various other events along with the tulip festival, a number of cultural programs, sale of local handicrafts, a wide variety of Kashmiri folk songs, traditional folk dances and other forms of the arts that the tourists love to watch. One can also enjoy the different traditional Kashmiri cuisine that is prepared by locals.

Kashmir is world famous for its natural beauty and glory and with the varieties of tulips the beauty is enhanced manifolds. New things and new varieties keep on adding every year.
